The Government’s long-awaited consultation on the future agriculture policy closes on 8 May and is the most important government document to come out of Defra in recent times, it will directly influence the contents of the Agriculture Bill due later this year. It contains proposals dealing with both the transition to a new policy and the new policy itself. If you are going to read one policy document from government in your lifetime it should be this one.
