Rural businesses key to the next generation of power supply

The Government has announced £246 million of investment into the development of battery technology as part of the Industrial Strategy.

CLA President Ross Murray said: “Across the countryside rural businesses are at the forefront of generating clean energy. Advances in battery storage will have a transformational impact on this market opportunity. As well as opening up the possibility for energy self- sufficiency it’s a real win for isolated rural homes and businesses. 

“We welcome the leadership the Government is showing and will play our part in unlocking the potential of new technologies for future energy supply.”
