The CLA Women’s Network aims to promote and support the invaluable contribution of women in membership to our rural economy and communities, and to ensure that they are fully represented in CLA activities.

It was set up in 2020 by previous CLA Director General Sarah Hendry. Since then, the Network has run diverse events at national and regional level and seen increasing levels of Committee participation by women in membership.

Objectives

The Network's objectives are to:

  • Build better links between the CLA team and women in membership, so that the organisation is hearing from a diverse set of voices and effectively representing their interests
  • Increase the proportion of women actively participating in CLA activity, including through committee, chair and officer roles
  • Create opportunities for networking, mentoring and professional development among women members.
