The CLA Charitable Trust (CLACT) recently supported the Essex Schools Food and Farming Day, a yearly event organised by the Essex Agricultural Society.

The day gave 3,000 Essex school children aged 8 to 11 the opportunity to visit ARU Writtle and find out how their food is produced, the role played by farmers in Essex and the many related jobs within the industry.

Through member contributions to the CLACT a variety of organisations are benefiting from grants to support their work in delivering exceptional outdoor learning experiences that focus on farming, food and countryside experiences.

A grant of £5000 was given to support the running of the educational event in Essex.
