CLA English Housing Survey
An opportunity for CLA members to share views on upcoming housing legislationResidential landlords in England may be concerned about all the proposed upcoming changes to the private rented sector. Landlords will soon be required to meet EPC ‘C’, may have the section 21 repossession route removed, may have to meet a Decent Homes Standard, and may have to register with a property portal and ombudsman. The CLA continues to lobby that these changes could prompt a mass exit of landlords from the sector. As older properties are being withdrawn from the sector, new properties are not being built at a sufficient rate to keep supply in line with demand.
Data about the effect poorly thought-out policy is having on the supply of rented homes is our most effective lobbying tool. All those who let rural properties should make sure they complete our recently launched English Housing Survey. The responses to this survey will inform our vital message to government.
