Lincolnshire Grey Partridge Award winner
The prestigious award was presented in the CLA marquee at the Lincolnshire Show
Congratulations to the winner of the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) Lincolnshire Grey Partridge Trophy, Trevor Rigby.
The prize was awarded for the eighteenth time on the CLA stand at the Lincolnshire Show on Wednesday 19 June. This Trophy is awarded annually to recognise the estate, farms or shoots that have done the most for the grey partridge and to encourage more farmers and landowners to actively conserve and count grey partridges.
Unusually, this year the award was presented to an individual, Trevor Rigby who carries out grey partridge counting across various parcels of land across Lincolnshire. Trevor counts the grey partridges using HPR dogs, walking the farms on foot to conduct the counts which therefore obtains a detailed account of the populations in the area.
