The latest round of Country Land and Business Association Charitable Trust (CLACT) grants have awarded £20,000 to a variety of charities across the Midlands, who all inspire disadvantaged children and adults to engage with nature and spend more time in the countryside.

Cooke E-Learning, trading as E2, are based in Beaumont Leys, Leicestershire and aim to promote and encourage education in sustainable farming, food production and rural land management, through hands-on workshops, sustainable food production and community based learning.

The grant from the CLACT will be used to establish and maintain the E2 Sustainable Food Hub, particularly benefiting those facing food insecurity, limited access to fresh produce, and social isolation.

The grant will be allocated towards several key areas, including tools, equipment, soil enhancement, and preparation, as well as seeds and plantings. Additionally, the funding will support the development of sustainable infrastructure and the creation of educational resources and outreach programs.

Chief Executive Officer, Cooke E-Learning commented “We are thrilled to receive the support of the CLA Charitable Trust, which will enable us to further our mission of empowering the community through education and sustainable initiatives.

“This funding allows us to create a lasting impact in Beaumont Leys, providing opportunities for individuals to learn, connect, and contribute to a greener, healthier future.”

The CLACT is funded through subscriptions and donations from CLA members, an organisation that supports nearly 26,000 farmers, landowners, and rural businesses. Its mission is to support charities that aim to connect disabled or disadvantaged individuals with the countryside.
