Meeting members at The Glamping Show

The Midlands team attended the UK’s only luxury camping show - The Glamping Show at Stoneleigh
The Glamping Show 2023

From the 14th to the 16th September, the Midlands team attended The Glamping show which took place at NAEC Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.

Known as the UK’s only luxury camping show, The Glamping Show now in its 9th year showcased the best products and services available in the market, providing the perfect forum for rural businesses and landowners.

The team had an enjoyable few days meeting new and current CLA members and offering advice and information from the stand.

A seminar programme of live sessions took place allowing visitors to share in the knowledge and experience of the industry’s leading experts. Midlands Rural Surveyor John Greenshields delivered a talk to a packed theatre on Friday morning, highlighting situations when planning would be required, including information relating to the new permitted development right which can allow for 50 sites to be created for up to 60 days a year. John also discussed the topics of business rates and integration into the existing business.

It was lovely to see so many members and non-members interested in adapting their business to this type of diversification, with some looking to use the income to replace Basic Payment Scheme money which is being phased out. There was some trepidation that the industry’s growth may start to slow, however there still appears to be demand for glamping as people are holidaying in the UK. Visitors were particularly interested in the new permitted development rights which further support temporary campsites, solar panels and film making.
