Members meet West Worcestershire MP, Harriett Baldwin
Worcestershire members of the Country Land and Business Association meet local MP, Harriett BaldwinMembers of the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) met with Dame Harriett Baldwin MP to talk about the challenges and opportunities they are facing in their constituency.
The CLA is the membership organisation supporting land, property and business owners in rural England and Wales, who have been increasing their political engagement leading up to the general election being held in July.
Held at a member’s venue, there was varied discussion and engagement around subjects such as the uptake of Environmental Land Management Schemes which seems to have improved, responsible access and planning in rural areas, which are always hot topics amongst members.
It was really useful to meet with rural businesses and hear the issues they are facing. I am enormously grateful for the Country Land and Business Association for arranging the gathering and allowing people from all sorts of businesses, based in the countryside, to share their perspectives.
It was lovely to meet Harriett today to talk about some of the important themes which are affecting this constituency. Planning and Environmental Land Management Schemes are always popular discussion points, often with members sharing examples of their own experiences which helps provide feedback and shape our lobbying and policy efforts.
You can view the CLA’s Rural Powerhouse campaign and our six missions here. These are designed to help political parties understand what policies are necessary to unlock the potential of the rural economy.
