England is now well into the Agricultural Transition, with the second round of Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) cuts having taken place in 2022 and further reductions scheduled for 2023. By 2024, BPS recipients will have lost at least half of their payments ahead of the final year in 2027.

It can be a challenge to keep up with the latest schemes which are being rolled out on a regular basis to ease the impact of the BPS cuts. However, it is important that CLA members are kept abreast of any updates so that they can decide what will work best for their businesses.

Building on the success of the Agricultural Transition (ATP) Roadshows which ran in early 2022, the CLA Midlands team alongside our national team, is running a second series of roadshow events in March 2023. These two hour events will include updates on the latest policy developments along with presentations from farm resilience consultants who are offering free support and advice to farmers in England. There will also be opportunities for CLA members to raise specific questions with CLA experts, DEFRA officials and the Rural Payments Agency in one hour breakout sessions.

You are welcome to attend events outside of your county.
