Kindly sponsored by HM3 Legal and Fieldmouse Research, the Midlands team recently hosted a joint CLA Women’s Network event with the CLA Cymru team at the beautiful Brynkinalt Hall in Chirk.

A wonderful historic and diversified estate which incorporates farming, forestry, a film location and property, as well as a family home. The weather was kind and gave attendees the opportunity to admire the views across the valley to Shropshire upon their arrival.

Entering the grade II listed building, members initially met in the dining room for tea and coffee before moving off for a tour of the house with owner and previous High Sheriff of Clywd, Kate Hill-Trevor. Guiding us through various rooms, Kate pointed out artifacts giving detailed information about their history and origins.

Following a delicious lunch, Kate then addressed members in the main hall discussing her time as High Sheriff, what the role involved and her achievements.

The CLA Women’s Network was set up by the former Director General, Sarah Hendry in 2020 with the aim of creating mentoring, networking and social opportunities for members. Thanks to this initiative, we have seen a rise in Women members joining regional and national committees, as well as running several successful networking events.
