Cumbria wide catchment partnership meeting

CLA North Rural Surveyor Robert Frewen recently attended the first Cumbria wide catchment partnership meeting at an all day event at the Crooklands Hotel.

In particular, Cumbria County Council is looking to build on a Local Nature Recovery Strategy. Inevitably, this involves farmers and landowners and it is important for the CLA to engage from the outset to ensure any policies that are put forward are actually feasible and deliverable from a farming and landowning perspective.

There was a useful briefing on how the new Unitary Authority will look like and how it will affect matters in the future and a catch-up on the Catchment Based Approach to planning.
