The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Rural Business and the Rural Powerhouse's report Levelling up the rural economy: an inquiry into rural productivity completes one of the most comprehensive inquiries into the rural economy by a parliamentary group in many years.

The inquiry took evidence from over 50 industry bodies, academics, business leaders and campaign groups.

The report should be seen as a blueprint for economic growth in the countryside. It makes 27 recommendations that are low cost and easy to implement.

It is published with a call from a wide number of business groups, MPs and Peers for the UK Government to show some ambition for the countryside, and commit itself to creating opportunity and prosperity throughout the rural economy.
