The CLA's Rural Powerhouse campaign highlights the importance of boosting prosperity in rural communities.

Even before the COVID pandemic, the rural economy was 18% less productive than the national average. Closing this gap would see £43bn added to the economy, the creation of hundreds of thousands of jobs and the strengthening of communities everywhere.

This document, Levelling Up, proposes a series of policy measures the UK Government should undertake to unleash the potential of the rural economy.
