CLA Veterans Initiative: inaugural meeting of Veterans Champions

Watch the inaugural national meeting of the CLA’s Veterans Champions, a coming together of a number of CLA members who are themselves veterans of the armed forces

As part of its Veteran’s Initiative, the CLA aims to build a partnership to connect rural employers, the veterans community and rural skills providers.

The skills, knowledge and experience of ex-service personnel are highly desirable, and tapping into this labour market is becoming increasingly important for land-based businesses.

On 20 March 2024, a number of CLA members who are themselves veterans of the armed forces, came together in the inaugural national meeting of the CLA’s Veterans Champions. The aim of the Champions is to advise CLA staff on how best to represent rural employers and how to encourage the greater employment of military veterans in the rural economy.
