Andrew Gillett

Andrew studied law at Reading University and has been with the CLA as a solicitor since 2010 answering members legal queries and taking part in policy work, he was appointed Chief Legal Adviser in March 2019.

He has overall responsibility for matters covered by the legal advisory team, also advises on public rights of way, often where new routes are claimed over members land, trespass, occupiers' liability, firearms and field sports. He took a Nuffield scholarship in 2016 on access issues and liability in other countries and focused on the applicability of the findings to England and Wales.
