Improvements to animal welfare in transport

The CLA has responded to a Defra consultation, which proposed a number of changes to the rules regarding the transportation of animals in England and Wales.

In our response, we highlighted significant shortcomings in a number of the proposals, which, if implemented, could compromise animal welfare and hinder the function of the food supply chain.
