Integrating Greenhouse Gas Removals in the UK Emissions Trading Scheme

Read the CLA's consultation response here.

The CLA responded to a consultation on how removals of greenhouse gas removals should be integrated into the UK’s Emission Trading Scheme (ETS). CLA members will deliver a significant proportion of the nature-based carbon sequestration and storage which will underpin this new policy. The consultation covers the technical design for this new market for carbon sequestration, including whether to use the Woodland Carbon Code as the basis for integrating woodland into the ETS.
