Short term lets registration scheme (England)

This government consultation on the design of a new registration scheme for short term lets in England follows an earlier call for evidence which the CLA responded to. We initially opposed the introduction of a registration scheme, so in this response we urge for the registration scheme to be as light-touch as possible. We have suggested that the main purpose of the registration scheme should be for proper data collection on the short term let sector, which is currently lacking. We have simultaneously responded to a response on the introduction of a new planning use class for short term lets.
