County Councillor Bob Greenland
Long associated with the CLA in Wales, Councillor Greenland will be missed by many members of the rural community in Monmouthshire and beyond. Nick Hacket Pain writes:- It is my very sad duty to inform members of the Monmouth Association that County Councillor Bob Greenland died yesterday. He passed away peacefully, at home with his wife Scilla, after a long and courageous battle with cancer during which he refused to bow to the effects of his declining health and continued to work for his constituents, the Association and the Church.
Bob was an important and formidable member of the our Conservative Association. As Deputy Leader of the Conservative Council Group and as Deputy Leader of the Monmouthshire County Council, he played for more than a decade an active and important role in Conservative matters in Monmouthshire. He always held the best interests of our Association at heart and always provided those running the Association with support, assistance and sound advice.
Kind, caring and considerate are just three worthy adjectives for Bob; only his faith was greater than his generosity.
He will be greatly missed by all of us who have worked with Bob over many years and, as an Association we will send our deepest condolences to Scilla and their family.
