The CLA has for several years been lobbying the government in relation to the tax consequences of environmental land use. Two of our major requests have been for the expansion of inheritance tax reliefs and greater clarity on the tax treatment of payments for such activity.

On Thursday (11 May), the CLA North team, with support from Muckle LLP and YoungRPS, supported a successful farm ‘walk and talk’, hosted by Charlie Bennett at Middleton North Farm near Morpeth. The aim of this event was to raise funds for education charity, the Country Trust.
