Many members are affected by compulsory purchase for all sorts of schemes, from general development to electricity schemes to roads. Often it can be difficult for landowners to get their voice heard. This guidance note helps to explain the process and help landowners find the best time to try and influence the scheme – often this is very early on in its inception.

In October, Natural England launched a consultation on the proposal for a new Yorkshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This consultation will run until midnight on 13 January 2025, and members within the proposed geography are encouraged to respond.
